GLOSSARY OF TERMS FOR DIGESTIVE DISEASES

Colon - the large bowel
Barium - a thick, white substance that x-rays cannot penetrate
Endoscopy (-ies) - looking inside you with a long, thin viewing instrument.
Gastroscopy - looking inside your stomach with a long, thin viewing instrument.
Feces, Fecal, Stool - All terms for solid waste that passes with bowel movements.
