Dr. Strothers is the associate chairman and chief of clinical
services at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, as
well as associate professor and residency program director of the
school's Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Strothers is a
board-certified family physician with additional certification in
geriatrics. He previously held positions as medical section chief
and geriatric medical consultant at two South Carolina Department
of Mental Health facilities, and was director of primary care
services for an all-inclusive care program for the elderly at
Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. Dr.
Strothers also has special research and practice interests in
substance abuse. He is a Join Together Fellow and formerly served
as chairman of the Tobacco Control Task Group of the American
Cancer Society, South Carolina Division. Dr. Strothers received
his doctorate in medicine from the University of Maryland School
of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland.
